Teaching Units about Hunger:

  • Selfless Sam (K-2) Learners listen to a story and discuss ways to address hunger and poverty.
  • Community Table, Community Ties (3-5) Learners research community agencies that help people who are hungry.
  • Helping Hands Across the World (3-5) Learners explore how individuals and society address the issues of poverty, homelessness and hunger and their underlying causes.
  • Hunger and Your Community (6-8) Learners explore food scarcity and abundance as they relate to issues of poverty, wealth and health. 
  • Making a Difference in the World (9-12) Learners will distinguish between governmental versus nonprofit programs in dealing with the problem of hunger.
  • Hunger Hurts (9-12) Learners develop an awareness of and sensitivity to hunger issues in their community and world.

Kids Care Clubs
